Limited time offer from Dr. Lisa!
Hello, there. How are you doing?
If you’re like most women I talk to, right about now you are feeling overwhelmed – like, really, really overwhelmed. It’s not surprising. Between work and the kids and the dog and your partner and your parents and dinner and the laundry and worrying about your health (and everyone else’s), and the political landscape, and the environment, you don’t know where you end and sheer exhaustion begins.
If I’ve just described your life, this might be the most important letter you read this year.
Here’s why:
I truly believe there is a way for you to remove all those obstacles to well-being that you know about – as well as other ones you may not have noticed that are standing in the way of you feeling content, on track and in control of your life.
I’m talking about a simple, step-by-step and focused approach to creating well-being. It’s the same approach I have personally used to get over indecision, overwhelm and guilt about letting other people down. It’s also the strategy that I have shared with countless women who were feeling exhausted, irritable, or apathetic so that they could shift into feeling positive about their lives again.
My name is Lisa, and, like you may be, I’m a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and aunt who has a family to support, tries to get enough exercise and knows that I am only one who will take care of me. I’ve been interviewed on television and radio – and produced and hosted my own live, call-in, health talk radio show in Canada for five years. Along with certification in nutrition, I also formalized my learning by completing a research doctorate that focused on women’s well-being. I’ve written an award-winning book, hundreds of articles, presented key-note addresses, conducted in-person workshops, and provided personal coaching and mentorship to thousands of women.
But, it wasn’t always like this for me
I raised my two now-adult children in a single-parent household. I had to make decisions about time versus money; about traveling for work or being at home when school was over; about doing what worked for me and our little family versus meeting other people’s expectations about how I “should” live my life. But because I had no one else to rely on to pick up the slack, I got really good at decision-making, often right on the spot. I learned how to build and protect boundaries around my time and my well-being. I took a lot of heat and got a lot of unsolicited advice along the way, but I learned how to trust the inner drumbeat that only I could hear.
So I understand what it’s like to feel pulled in every direction, and to be the last person on your list. You are so busy taking care of everyone else – and managing everyone else’s feelings – that you feel you’ve lost your voice. You don’t know who you are anymore and wouldn’t know what to say if you did.

how did your life get like this?
Remember when you were young and all the magazines, television and books let you know that you could “have it all.” When you were starting out, you knew that life was a smorgasbord of opportunity! Somewhere along the way, though, the big plan went sideways. The message that you could “have it all” became a should: You should get an education. Create a high-flying career. Bring in heaps of cash. Find a partner. Have a baby. Look like a super model. Buy a house, a car, nice clothes. Then buy a nicer car, a bigger house and for goodness’ sake, keep it spotless. As a woman recently said to me, you’ve realized that “having it all comes with a lot of doing.”
Not only the doing – but doing it perfectly. Because if you aren’t being the perfect partner/mother/employee or employer/daughter/sister/friend all the time and still walking around in a body that hasn’t aged a day since you were 27, you are failing.
But your body has changed, too, hasn’t it? You don’t have the energy you used to have. Your clothes seem to shrink in the closet overnight, even if you haven’t changed what you eat or your level of exercise. Maybe you’ve started to notice mood swings, insomnia, brain fog or irritability.
No wonder you feel so alone. I mean: How can you admit that you’re not perfect? It would go against everything that we women strive for! It goes against the unspoken Woman Code. (You know the one: We don’t tell anyone how hard it is to do everything that is expected of us. We just do it all, with a smile.) Besides, everyone else seems to be managing just fine. Clearly, you’re the one who doesn’t measure up.
But here’s a hot tip: You aren’t alone. No one is meeting those high standards that society has placed on women. No-one.
Of course, there are tons of books and resources that try to teach or inspire you to “have it all” with their sure-fire patented systems, or stories about people who have achieved this lofty goal. But what if “having it all” is a big lie?
(Hint: Most women I’ve spoken to have realized that it is!)
What if you admitted that the quest to “have it all” has you trapped on a treadmill that someone else built – and it’s making you feel worse about yourself daily?
What if you don’t even want it all? Have you considered that? When was the last time you thought about what you wanted? (I’m guessing that you don’t want to feel overwhelmed, stuck, bored, unhappy or apathetic and lacking direction.)

What if The Path to well-being is to forget about having it ALL™?
Now, I’m not for a moment suggesting that you should chuck your dreams. On the contrary: Your dreams should be the magnet that joyfully pulls your life forward. But if you’re still reading this, I’m guessing that you’re more interested in how to pull yourself through today. And it’s the worst feeling to know that you’re overwhelmed but have no idea how to get out of it. Am I right?
What could life be like if you were less concerned about where you are on the road to “having it all” and you focused instead on having what you want? Imagine what your day could be like if you made decisions based on what’s right for you? How much stress could you save yourself if you knew how create and – more importantly – keep boundaries around your time and energy? What if you could do that and not feel the slightest bit guilty? Can you imagine?
But happy thoughts won’t get you there. Instead, you need a simple step-by-step strategy that will guide you from you overwhelm to where you want to be. First of all, you need to recognize what forces are keeping you stuck. Then, one by one, you need to take their power away and reclaim it for yourself.

Sounds good, right?
But this program isn’t for everyone. This isn’t a fluffy program that will simply encourage you to take bubble baths and get regular manicures. Those things are fun and down-time is essential to your well-being, but that kind of self-care can distract us from doing what’s necessary to really take care of ourselves. Instead, if you are ready to roll up your sleeves and do a little bit of work together, we can get you back onto the path you want to be on. (And what that path looks like is completely up to you. How cool is that?)
Introducing the free 30-minute Clarity Call!
If you have questions about the best path forward for you, let’s have a chat. We’ll talk about where you are now, how you are feeling and where you want to go. And we’ll plot out the best strategy for you to achieve your goals – whether or not that means that we’ll be working together. In other words, there is absolutely no obligation to work together. Depending on your needs, I might even recommend a different type of practitioner. I call this my “well-being triage” service.
Get from where you are to where you want to be.

FAQs
Is this a sales call?
Nobody likes to be ‘sold to’ – especially me. However, most people like to be heard. I’d like to hear what’s up with you. After 20+ years in the well-being industry, I know where I excel and where others have more expertise. If I know I can help you, I’ll suggest some options for working together. If I don’t think I’m the person you need based on your most pressing concerns, I’ll tell you that, too – and point you in the right direction. Sound good?
How long is the call?
We’ll chat for 30 minutes. Please be sure to check your time zone before booking your call!
How will the private sessions happen?
The private sessions will take place in an online virtual conference room.
Why did I receive an Application form after I booked my call?
Good question! In order to make the most of our time together, it helps if you have clarity about your situation and your goals so we can get straight to solutions when we chat rather than you spending our precious time together thinking things through. Taking the time to complete the form helps you get that clarity, and shows that you’re serious about doing what’s necessary to create well-being in your life.
Why was my appointment canceled?
If you receive a cancelation notice, it may be because you did not complete the Application form. Please reschedule a call, and be sure to complete the form. If you completed the form and your appointment was canceled, please reach out at ask@lisapetty.com
